Night Swim

For me the Halloween film series minus the non-Michael movie is my favourite. The movie isn't really scary but I love movies which are set in Surburban areas as everything seems happy and safe then suddenly a pyscho appears.

Yours?

I grew a smile when people here mentioned Hayao Miyazaki...but then I grew a frown once I realized that Princess Mononoke wasn't specifically mentioned. :(

Mononoke is, by far, my favorite film of all time. Miyazaki made an epic adventure story with themes and messages that Western cinema would NEVER inject into children's movies, like perspectivism. Also, we can all wait until Hell freezes over before Western children's movies ever get strong and positive female characters, as Miyazaki gives us in each of his films.

I also LOVE the first three Indiana Jones films!

Howl's Moving Castle + many other Studio Ghibli films

Please tell me Mononoke is featured in this list, too!

Also, I haven't really watched Clueless (nor do I intend on it), but Heathers was freakin' awesome!

Interesting that you mentioned Donnie Darko! I saw it last year and thought it was a bit ~unusual~ but I still thought it was a very intriguing movie. I want to maybe give it another chance, do you recommend re-watching it?

I do! But I also recommend reading about it before you rewatch it. I generally never recommend that because imo it's always best to have your own interpretation first before reading other people's and having that skew your view, but Donnie Darko is honestly a movie you have to understand~ or else you won't get it at all. the IMDB page for it has a lot of info that will help it be like, less unusual. i mean it's still a weird movie but it'll make a little bit more sense after reading about it lol
